All purchases include CMMI Institute student license fees, “CMMI Institute Exam Voucher” (Exam is for the CMMI Foundations of Capability Course), and a virtual live training course presented by an experienced CMMI instructor.
Our SteelToad team will reach out to verify your purchase and provide additional course information.
We’ll give your name, email and the course you selected to the CMMI Institute who will then send a link to your email requesting registration and “enrollment” in the courses you purchased. This process creates your account with the CMMI Institute and tracks the courses you have completed.
One week before the course start date SteelToad will send an invite via email the with the link to attend the virtual course; one day before the course starts you’ll get access, via your CMMI Institute account, to the course materials required for the class.

One week after the final day of training, you will receive a Certificate of Completion from SteelToad, indicating completion of the course in its e0ntirety.
If there is a CMMI exam required for the CMMI course, then upon completion with an exam score of 80% or higher, a CMMI Associate Certificate from the CMMI Institute will be available for download on your CMMI account portal.
SteelToad has created a comprehensive practice exam. It will be sent to you via email within one week after you complete the course.

The CMMI Institute strictly limits the virtual course size to 15 students. SteelToad will never have more than 15 students per course. We utilize small groups in breakout rooms, and encourage open discussion and questions. The goal is for you to access the class and the instructor to really learn CMMI best practices, not just to pass an exam, but to be qualified to lead and implement the approach within your work environment.

The link to the exam is available on the CMMI website. SteelToad provides an exam voucher at no charge for the exam. You’ll have 30 calendar days to take the course (from the start date of your class). The test is online, 60 questions, and takes about 3 hours. Our SteelToad instructor will review this process during the course so you will be prepared access the CMMI Institute’s exam link
If you do not score 80% on the CMMI exam or higher, you’ll be able to purchase another exam voucher through the CMMI Institute. The step-by-step process is available on the CMMI Institute website and you may purchase the exam voucher directly from their site.
CMMI requires supplemental courses for the appraisal model chosen. If you are planning to be an ATM and participate in both a CMMI Development and Services Model appraisal, the CMMI Institute requires:
– Foundations of Capability Course (2 day course) and 80% passing score on the exam
– Building Development Excellence Course (1 day) and no exam
– Building Service Excellence Course (1 day) and no exam
